Helly Hansen Lifaloft Hooded Insulator Heren Jas

Pros and cons

Light and packable
The LIFALOFT insulation packs down small, making it easy to bring along as a spare layer

Windproof and water-repellent
The outer fabric keeps wind and light precipitation out, even when you wear the jacket as a standalone outer layer

Versatile
Works well as a warm mid layer and as a standalone jacket on milder days

Made responsibly
The insulation is recycled, production meets Bluesign standards and the jacket is free from intentionally added PFAS

No technical ski features
Without a powder skirt or pit zips, this isn't the jacket for hard days on the mountain in variable conditions

Not fully waterproof
In persistent rain or wet snow you'll need a waterproof outer shell on top
